Those of us who went to school in Europe, will remember the twisting of the tongue required to attempt to pronounce the names of these cities along the river DNIEPR correctly. I don't think that as a Dutch schoolboy I knew what ROTARY was, but not for a moment did I believe that these far away and difficult to pronounce places would resurface in my life… Dniepropetrovsk was a name, which we believed geography teachers had invented just to "try to trip us up".
